Fairness and social responsibility

It is one thing to enthusiastically call for humanitarian ideas, but another to act in a humanitarian manner in day-to-day business, paying attention to the rights of the people around us, regardless of their origin and nationality under all circumstances. It has always been our objective to apply such conduct, and we have been a member of the „Business Social Compliance Initiative“ (BSCI) since 2009, a non-profit organization, which was founded in Brussels in 2002 by leading companies of the "Foreign Trade Association" (FTA). The main objective of the FTA is to ensure and continuously improve responsible conduct within the worldwide supply chains of European enterprises. The so-called BSCI Code of Conduct is being applied and is based on the Declaration of Human Rights of the UN, the conventions of the "Internationalen Arbeitsorganisation" (ILO), the conventions of UN regarding the rights of children as well as the elimination of discrimination against women, the UN Global Compact and the OECD guidelines for multinational enterprises. The contest of the Code of Conduct refers to the compliance with laws, the freedom of assembly, the right to collective bargaining and the prohibition of discrimination. Additionally, the guidelines entail further important issues as for example fair wages, working hours, health and safety in the workplace, the prohibition of child labour, forced labour and disciplinary measurements, environmental safety issues and the management system. By signing the Code of Conduct, the producers commit to comply with these requirements. And that is exactly what we do!
